Holidays
Those residents not able to plan and take breaks or a holiday by themselves or with their families are assisted and supported in this activity by coworkers. Full or partial support is given, where needed, in arranging and going on visits to family or friends. These should be planned in consultation with workshop leaders and support workers. A wide variety of annual, all-inclusive 'group-holidays' to locations throughout Britain or abroad are organized for those who wish to take part. They are organized in small groups and led by co-workers or suitable guardians. The Oaklands Park community runs a shared holiday fund which all residents are invited to join, should they so wish.
Coworkers also need time outside the community and this is encouraged. However, we do expect a certain amount of attendance before this happens!
